February, 2023: Construction will begin soon on a freestanding East Hampton Emergency Department to operate under the Stony Brook Medicine healthcare system, which includes Stony Brook Southampton Hospital, Stony Brook University Hospital, Stony Brook Children’s Hospital, and Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital.
“The Stony Brook Medicine East Hampton Emergency Department offers our citizens improved access and reduced response times for vital emergency care and other necessary services,” stated Peter Van Scoyoc, East Hampton Town Supervisor. “This is crucial for meeting the expanding healthcare needs of our growing community.”
The Town of East Hampton has leased the land at 400 Pantigo Place in East Hampton as a site for the Emergency Department.
The Little League ball fields at the site will be moved to the Town recreational facility on Stephen Hand’s Path in Wainscott.
Construction of the new fields began in October, 2022, and will be completed in Spring, 2023, in advance of the Little League season.
