County Comptroller Kennedy Announces Property Tax Extension Deadline to June 20th without Penalty 

May 28th, 2020 (Hauppague, NY)-Suffolk County Comptroller John Kennedy announced today, the extension of the real property tax deadline to June 20 (payment due next business day Monday, June 22) without penalty or interest, in accordance with the New York State executive order.  Tax payments made after June 2 should be paid directly to the Suffolk County Comptroller’s Office in Riverhead. 

 “The COVID-19 public health crisis has created catastrophic hardships for many people, particularly in Suffolk County, one of the areas hardest hit by the pandemic,” said Comptroller Kennedy. “Extending the real property tax deadline to June 22 without penalty or interest will give residents a much-needed grace period in order to meet their real property tax obligation,” he said. 


NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that due to public health and safety concerns related to COVID-19, the Town Board will not be meeting in-person.  In accordance with the Governor’s Executive Order 202.1, the April 2, 2020 meeting of the East Hampton Town Board will be held via videoconferencing, and a transcript will be provided at a later date. The public will have an opportunity to see and hear the meeting live, beginning at 6:30 p.m., on LTV on Channel 22 as well live online from the Public Meetings link on the LTV website (

A transcript will be prepared of the public hearing, and a copy shall be filed with the Town Clerk and placed upon the Town’s website.

The Town Clerk announces that on March 7, 2019 the Town Code Legislation on Beach Parking and Beach Driving Permits changed.  Resident permits will now expire on the 31st of December in the years ending in a 0 or 5.  Resident permits will still be issued free of charge. All current resident permits will expire December 31, 2020.  The Clerk’s Office now has available the new permits.  They can be obtained at the Clerk’s Office on Pantigo Road, the annex at the Montauk Playhouse, or by mail, all with proper documentation.  For further information please call the office at (631) 324-4142.  

The Clerk's Office is frequently considered the center of Town government. It is not only the office responsible for recording the activities of Town government, but it is the central place where the documents and papers vital to the lives of the townspeople are filed.

Montauk Annex

The Montauk Annex was created with the intention of bringing many of the services that the Town Clerk’s office offers to the residents and visitors of Montauk. This year the Montauk Annex will be offering the following services;
  • Beach parking, beach driving, shellfish and recycling permits.
  • Disability parking permits

2020 Saturday hours will begin on Saturday March 28th and will continue every week until Saturday June 20th. Please be advised that Saturday hours will be the following;

Town Hall - 9:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M 
Montauk Annex - 9:30 A.M - 11:30 A.M
